We do not know how fast.the other car was going. could have been extreme.
Fair point although judging by the fact that the other car is recognizable, I'd be surprised if it was going super fast, but I could be very wrong too...

Is it just me, or it seems the CT did pretty poorly actually, compared to side crash tests of other Teslas and Rivian, where there is barely any penetration in such situation?
I agree, definitely feels like the CT didn't do that well here. Curious to see how fast the other car was going, because the only info we have is "high speed" according to the title.

Doesn't even look like most of the airbags went off on the other car either

It depends on the speed of impact.

Our angle doesn't let us see how much intrusion into the cabin there is.

Remember, the doors have a cavity to absorb this.

Also, the fact that the metal remains in a sheet would leave the other vehicle more recognizable as there's no tearing and intermixture of parts. The doors are acting like a blanket, catching the intruding structures.

Camera footage could reveal factors that led to this 'result'.....but l agree it could have been better!

I think the best you can hope for is everyone being ok. It doesn’t matter if the truck was in it’s current condition or only had scratches. Protecting the passengers is the only thing that matters. I love my truck but after seeing that damage, I couldn’t care less about it until I knew my family was ok.
