Are they? Wraps on flat surfaces?

-Crissa
yea, too much labor/time I feel for tesla to direct at. There used to be a company selling automated wrapping machines for trailers but haven't kept up on it.

Thinking about this though, that truck may have been hydrodipped. This can be automated rather easily. and margins are much higher, and durability is up there in the ownership range.

The whole idea of the SS finish is to avoid applying coatings. The benefit is a streamlined manufacturing process. Adding a wrap should be easier than paint but would require a whole additional line of prep and application. This will be a soft coating on a hard resiliant surface. I get the idea of wanting to personalize your truck, but I think complicating the manufacturing is not in the process EM has been touting of "the best part, is no part"
Mostly agree. Particularly about durability. But people like to personalize vehicles. You spend $70,000 on a truck and you want it in your favorite color.

Tesla didn’t want **PAINT** because painting a vehicle massively slows down how quickly you can get a vehicle out the door. When you paint a vehicle, you have to a giant clean room for it to dry. That’s time consuming and expensive. If they have a quick/ easy/ automatable way to wrap the truck after it’s done with production, then it might make a world of sense to do it.

That’s a big huge IF though. Most likely wraps will be aftermarket or maybe done at the service centers.

I don’t think this is an indication they are wrapping trucks. I think these trucks are camouflaged for the same reason the Model 3 Highland is camoflaged. There are features of these truck they don’t want to be revealed yet.

I think these trucks are camouflaged to make fun of the other manufactureres who try to hide new models, it is sarcasm in it's purist form

That is maybe a little too subtle a joke.

Tesla is camouflaging their cars even right now with the Model 3.
