Not if your washing machine is dented we can have another delivered in 30 days.
Lol they won't tell you that. They'll tell you if you walk away from your first one due to quality issues, they have no clue when the next one will show up.

This is the craziest thing about Tesla. It's like walking into an Apple store where people know nothing about what they are selling and don't really care about their product. They simply look at their iPads and read back to me the website I've already looked at. To me that's a culture killer. I swear half the employees in the showroom didn't have driver's licenses. If you walk into a dealership you need some scenery, culture, service. Not if your washing machine is dented we can have another delivered in 30 days.
Why are they supposed to know, and are you willing to pay for that difference?

I am certainly paying for the difference šŸ¤£ you cannot argue otherwise.
Especially for a vehicle I cannot test drive.
I could play a drinking game with how many times the reps ask me to test drive a model 3. I literally have been asked repeatedly if I want a model 3. I get it there's an incentive.

There is not a person with any knowledgeable experience with towing, performance, offroad capability. Just, here look at ipad.

I was morbidly disappointed to drive hours to look at some kids ipad.

I'm old, I've experienced life through more than an Ipad. Tesla is missing the mark on the experience factor.

End of rant. #oldngrumpy

It's been a little more than 30 days for me. Itā€™s sad but Iā€™d pay an extra $500-$1000 for someone that actually cared to look over a vehicle in detail before trying to sell it to me. Seems like it should be included in the price and or they should act like the buyer's time has any value. I had an even worse truck from Rivian and like 6+ months later they bought it back after trying to fix all the issues and making it worse.

You didn't answer my question, tho.

You would have to pay more to get customer service that has spent more time in training, more training was made, plus all the continual updates to keep them engaged and knowledgeable. And then such trained workers could ask for more wages.

You would have to pay more for such a product.

I just got my new truck, and I was really excited about it. But when I took a closer look, I found a lot of problems with it, especially rust.

Finding rust on a brand-new truck, especially on the day itā€™s delivered, is not okay. It worries me a lot

I plan to take some pictures to show how bad it is and share them with others. I want people to know that when you buy something new, it should be in good condition.

Even though I still like my new truck, Iā€™m disappointed and worried about the rust. I hope this experience helps others pay more attention to the quality of what they buy and the importance of speaking up when there are problems.

I will be sharing with you more pictures tomorrow or Sunday, the piece of the tailgate was also broken.

There shouldnā€™t be rust on there there should be an e-coating on that.

Crissa the price of the product more than covers the staff. Less ipad holders more knowledgeable staff. There should not be warm bodies selling quality vehicles. That does not represent the product well. If you don't think the premium price is there you may be off on your numbers.

It would be dumb for Tesla to offer test drives on a vehicle with so much demand. And Tesla is not dumb.

There is not a person with any knowledgeable experience with towing, performance, offroad capability. Just, here look at ipad.

It sounds like you prefer the hard sell, if so, you're shopping in the wrong place. Tesla doesn't play the "selling game". Because they know you can get all the info you need off the web.

Like most things in life, either you want it, or you don't. It's entirely up to you, Tesla knows if they make great products they will sell themselves. If you don't want it, someone else will.

So you admit you are not willing to pay more. Case closed. You get what you get. You're welcome to open an Apple store with only Genius bar techs, Apple sells stuff through third-party stores, unlike Tesla.

If I can get better customer service buying a Chinese side by side its obviously not the price that's the factor. Even buying plumbing parts at Home Depot you can get more knowledgeable people in store. That premium paid for that plunger though šŸ¤£

Sure, sure, because you're totally telling the truth here.

Because you're totally asking the Home Depot person about the features of the next-gen Rheem water heater along with its delivery plans and not some part that's been on the shelf for fifty years.

You can't even manage to keep your story straight without gish-galloping to another.

It's not like they have to know about all the thousands items in a Home Depot. Just keep a few lists of FAQs for each of the four or five vehicles they sell, read through them once in a while or have it handy and act like they care.

The people who work at the delivery/service center are not detailers, paint correction experts and definitely not stainless refinishing professionals. They have one job/goal, which is to get you to accept the vehicle and then they wash their hands of it. You donā€™t want the delivery folks attempting to ā€œfix itā€ because itā€™s not going to be right and they will make it worse.
I've always found them to do a good job. For example, most shops can't even get the lug nut torque and air pressure correct. And that's at specialty tire stores and dealership service centers. Tesla does.

That said, after 6 years of owning Tesla, and with 3 Tesla with 32K, 72K and 96K on their odometers, I have very little experience with Tesla service beyond tire installs/replacements, but it does seem that they have better employee retention and this bodes well for getting a service tech with experience and who cares. That's more than I can say at traditional stealerships and big tire chains.

It sounds like you are trying to conflate delivery center staff with Tesla Service Techs. That's never a good idea.

I've had three Teslas delivered. The last two, my M3 and MYP had some pretty bad paint issues. I brought them to a paint correction specialist instead of having someone at the SC, do the minimum they think they can get away with, to get me to accept the vehicle. They are not paint correction professionals there at the SC and they are probably not going to be stainless steel refinishing experts either. That's why they have body shops and detail shops. I would not let the SC try to fix any paint issue and would not trust them to fix any deep gouges on an HFS exterior either. We have seen pictures of what it looks like when they try to fix it! Looks like complete crap! Like they give an unqualified worker and orbital sander and say "fix it". I've seen the pictures of what it looks like after they sand a part of a panel with issues, and it's not good, and does not match. So show me some before and after pictures of a truck they fixed and it looks really good and matches great. Probably won't ever see any.

That being said, there will be professionals who will be able to fix blemishes on these trucks and they will probably be detailers and they will exist because there will be money to be made if they are good at it, and the news travels that they are good at their craft. Won't be the service centers though. It's going be an art of love, motivated by getting paid by people who are willing to pay good $$$ for it, to spend the time necessary, to follow all the steps required, to achieve the desired quality outcome. Where there's a need for a service, and there will be, there will be people who can provide that service for a fee and get damn good at it. And if they are good at it, they will have a job for life if Tesla makes as many of these trucks as they plan to make.
