We're carrying over our drive inverter from Cybertruck". Whatever that means.
I caught that and was very happy to hear that. Not sure if they use two inverters on the semi since it will need so much power but if the Cybertruck has an inverter that is put to use in a Class 8 semi that means there will be lots of power available. Heavy load or not, the Cybertruck WILL haul ass.

Up to 1,500 horse power depending on clients specs. Will we see a 1,500 HP Cybertruck?

This is good news. If they arranged a publicity feature like this with Jay for the Semi, it's likely they shot an episode for the Cybertruck at the same time. They'll just wait until after the delivery event to air it.

I was initially surprised to hear them say they're still using 12 volts (and 24 volts) in the Semi, but actually the Semi predates the Cybertruck so actually not as surprising.

I am surprised that the Automatic Brake Hold that's in most Tesla Cars is still not implemented in the Semi though.

Another updated Cybertruck episode with Jay Leno would be awesome too, as they could possibly insert footage from the previous episode to make comparisons.

They're doubling the price. I remember them saying the truck would be $180k when first announced. Now they're saying competitive with other electric offerings. Nikola is over $400k and the others are right there.

I'm going to have to watch it again. So much to digest about the design, tech, and methodology.

I found the convo about the suicide door and which side the door hinge would be on and how it would effect the overall cab shape fascinating.

Jay Leno is a rare bird in the classic car world with his embrace and understanding on vehicle electrification. I'm really glad about being able to watch his videos and learn.

In one of the last lines of the video, Jay says "We gotta get a Winnebago version of this". Dan gamely says "Alright, we're on it". Probably just having some fun, but once the Semi goes on sale to the general public I'm sure someone will turn one into an RV. It won't be Tesla, though.

Did anyone notice they side stepped the parts relating to how much the Semi weighs and how much actual torque you get with it??

They did say that Pepsico was their first and limited quantity launch customer and they were collecting data to optimize and develop improvements. With this phase and only 70'ish of them in existence right now, it's not surprising they want to keep certain specifications to themselves.
