    Frunk storage for camping gear

One needs to make sure the cooler or box is on the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee approved list. List of approved products at link. Also requirements for bear fences. I guess the small portable fence chargers I have are not up to snuff. Too low of voltage. Also they require alternating power...

    Frunk storage for camping gear

I've used electric fences when distributed camping. I started doing it back in 2010 after I heard the Forest Service was using them. I have a couple solar battery operated fencers. I use 48" tall plastic step in posts every 5 feet with a half inch wide poly electric fence tape. Some use electric...

Rage against the machine... [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

You can ask to be identified as a John Doe or Jane Doe because you are afraid of retaliation. I had that happen in a NAPA Parts store. It wasn't a NAPA a couple months later. Corporations don't like bad press. Very good advise. Been there done that. I've grown up with adversity my whole life...

12 Volts DC - Available in cabin?

Jamming a signal is far different than receiving it. There are plenty of regulations making deliberate jamming signals like radar waves illegal, including FCC regulations. One doesn't even need to go into interfering with law enforcement. For a laser jammer, seeing it is transmitting laser...

New TC8 24" Cybertruck Hex Wheels from T Sportline

Agree 100%. I got 19s on my MY because I often drive roads that kill low profile tires. Even then I've still had a pinch flat. I hate it when they use 2" gravel on roads.

New TC8 24" Cybertruck Hex Wheels from T Sportline

I plan on getting 18s eventually for rough roads. Also airing down is much more effective.

12 Volts DC - Available in cabin?

Many radar detectors use heterodyning to make the radar signal easier to detect. The radar detector detector looks for that transmission. It is part of freedoms from the First Amendment. If they transmit it via the public airwaves, like that heterodyning signal, you can receive it. It is up to...

12 Volts DC - Available in cabin?

For commercial vehicles 10,000 lbs and over they are illegal in all states by federal law. Some states also ban them in all commercial vehicles. As far as I know Washington DC, and Virginia are the only places they are illegal for private passenger vehicles. Many places it is an automatic...

    Will the CyberTruck be Discontinued

The FSD rides I've given have sold many Teslas. Especially to older retired people.

My First Longish Road Trip in Cybertruck

What I'd have done is initially navigated to the Supercharger 1 mile from the destination and supercharged enough to make it to the destination, and on to a reasonably positioned Supercharger on the return trip, then finished the trip. That way the battery is already warm from driving, and...

    What is delaying the CyberTrucks?

The PCS failures have let too much magic smoke out, and its production is very limited due to long lead times. So regular CT production had to be slowed down.

If you own a CT, or have one on order, is this your first truck?

Many trucks. I was a farmer before I became disabled. I did buy my first truck for off road and snowy road use well before I took over the family farm. The CT will be for trips to remote places.

    Will the CyberTruck be Discontinued

No need to discontinue. All can be made on the same production line. Just modify the line so fixturing for all can fit, and there are extra stations for those vehicles that need more production steps have them. This would easily handle both SUV and cargo truck on the Cybertruck line. One can run...

New Stainless Steel Lumber Rack for Brutus

You better not be older than I. I have a bunch of HS friends who still surf. Heck, I'd still be surfing if I'd ever started, but I have ME/CFS getting in the way of hiking up mountains.

Raptor 700R loaded in Cybertruck - looking for thoughts if you have done this before....

I was wondering if short ramps for the front tires would lift it enough the bumper would clear the front of the bed. Use blocks to keep the fronts from going to far forward to keep the bumper from touching the glass. Then air down the rear tires to allow the tailgate to close.

    Garage experience?

19 feet means I'll have a couple feet in front and behind. My garage is from when cars were looooong. I used to have a 91' deep garage. It was mainly for working on farm equipment. I used to pull in and park diagonally in it on both sides.

    Rolling Coal - VW puffer

I'm pretty sure complaints of coal rolling lead to inspections that found the mods. Impounding would be for ensuring the mods get removed and fines paid. We don't have to get yearly smog checks, but one is still required to keep the emissions system functional. Looks like defeat devices are a...

    Rolling Coal - VW puffer

We get too many yahoos every new semester who think coal rolling is OK. I wonder how many of them know over 30% of the professors have EVs? I often see trucks I know did coal rolling in the city impound lot.
